Looking at the life of humans, they experience learning, practicing, and contribution cycles. When we are “young” – no need to be young in age, but junior or new to one domain, we first learn as much as possible to understand this domain, glossary, and best practices. After accumulating, we eagerly practice what we learn from books or other people. It’s time we made many mistakes, had a deeper understanding of what we learned, and corrected misunderstandings. That’s a tough but fast-growth experience – we celebrate our achievements, cheer with new friends and partners, and make the “knowledge” as the subconscious behaviors. During this journey, we are lucky to have several mentors to give us suggestions and help us remove roadblocks. Sometimes, unconscious words or sentences from their experience prevent us from making a big mistake. Finally, we became experts in a specific domain, and the time to contribute came. It’s my time to contribute to the community with my experience as a tech executive on vision, team growth, decision-making, and some detailed tech.
As the title said, it’s about tech executives, which is a combination of executives on leadership and decision-making, and tech breadth – you may not be the expert on every tech stack, but you need to know what’s the crucial path and ask the right questions to support the decisions.
In the Leadership section, I will cover nine topics in the following three quarters – it is subject to change and may not publish with this sequence.
